We’re embarking on a new series of ”Simple Patchwork” by Craft South - and these patterns are exactly that.

The Story
The LeMoyne Star quilt pattern is a traditional block featuring spinning diamonds to create an 8-point star, perfect or both bold color choices and fun fussy cutting. The origins of the design are varied, but some legends say the block was first used by Jean-Louis LeMoyne in a tile pattern at Versailles, home of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. LeMoyne's cousins, Pierre and Jean-Baptiste, went on to found New Orleans, and may have brought the design stateside, where English-speakers called the block the Lemon Star. Whatever the history, we love the graphic design and interesting construction on the LeMoyne Star!
